The recent rains have put water in our ponds, which had been dry for a very long time. The cracks in the clay are gone. The mosquitoes are breeding. The dogs are wet, muddy and happy.
The mushroom circles, however, are new. These don’t usually appear, even in years when we have normal rainfall amounts.
I stepped inside a mushroom circle and danced, just in case any fairies were near and needed a dancing partner.
